Ethereum Foundation
The Ethereum Foundation (opens in a new tab) (EF) is a non-profit organization that supports the Ethereum ecosystem. It funds protocol development, grows the ecosystem, and advocates for Ethereum.
The EF is not a company, or even a traditional non-profit. It does not control or lead Ethereum, nor is it the only organization that funds critical development of Ethereum-related technologies. The EF is one part of a much larger ecosystem.
EF Mandate
The EF Mandate defines the Foundation's purpose, principles, and commitments to the Ethereum ecosystem. Published onchain, it enshrines the EF's dedication to censorship resistance, open source, privacy, and security (CROPS) as non-negotiable priorities.
