ethereum-lists/chains is the canonical metadata list for EVM chains, covering chain ID, name, native currency, and RPC URLs. Builders pull chains.json from it to populate wallet and network configuration instead of hardcoding chain data.

Chainlist

Chainlist is a directory of EVM chain IDs and public RPC endpoints that developers and wallets use to add a network. The repository is the source of chainlist.org.
